作为系列的第十六款产品，《彩虹六号：拉斯维加斯2》将作为育碧公司庆祝“彩虹六号”面世十周年的献礼产品，并庆祝此知名品牌全线出货量超过1600万份。在《彩虹六号：拉斯维加斯2》中，玩家将继续扮演反恐怖行动小组成员、在美国暴力犯罪最猖獗的“罪恶之城”拉斯维加斯执行各种任务。

游戏特点

• 更精彩激烈的多人游戏。前作中备受好评的多人游戏将在新作中获得进一步扩展。其中包括13张全新的多人对战地图、两种全新对抗模式、更多的胜利奖励以及基于获得大幅优化改良的配对系统的更易上手的多人竞赛。

• 前所未见的自定义体验。创建自己独一无二的角色，并在单人及多人游戏中使用。在战火洗礼中，角色将与你一起成长。此外，玩家在单人游戏中所获得的胜利奖励将可以用于多人内容及连线对战之中。

• 获得大幅改进的多人合作模式。在进入游戏后，玩家可以随时从单人游戏跳转进合作模式(Co-op Mode)之中。你和朋友可以进入单人游戏，而不会对故事发展产生任何影响。由于游戏中所有单人地图及故事具有多个进入点且不会改变主线情节，因而玩家有机会以多人合作模式体验到迥乎不同的战斗内容。

本作的场景还是设定在罪恶之城拉斯维加斯，虽然剧情仍延续上一代，但剧情的发展却不是一路走到底，之中会涵盖前作的一些事件，并把之前发生的事情给「补完」。而制作公司也表示，将会有个「爆炸性的大结局」来满足玩家。

加入角色专精设计：

除了补完剧情，《彩虹六号：维加斯2》另一个新特色是玩家能在剧情模式或是多人连线对战游戏中「专精」小队角色。利用一种称为「先进战斗及专精」（ACES）的系统，玩家将能强化人物角色在突击、狙击以及近距离战斗的技巧。

这些专精将与玩家的游戏风格息息相关，如果玩家偏爱把门轰开或是使用手榴弹，那么玩家在游戏中就会获得更多的炸药，如果喜欢神不知鬼不觉地用狙击枪把敌人乾掉，那么玩家就能得到威力更强的狙击步枪。也就是说，玩家越朝某项「专精技能」发展，就越能获得相关的强大武器。在新加入的11种新武器中， Ubisoft目前只透露有M468步枪和SR-25狙击步枪。

更灵活的小队AI：

采用强大的 Unreal Engine 3.0，玩家将看到更真实的罪恶之城，全新的场所、街道及小巷、工业区和脱衣舞俱乐部都将一一呈现在玩家眼前。游戏玩法承袭前作的「掩护及射击」机制，不过续作中将更为紧张刺激，因为掩护玩家的物体不再坚不可摧，像是木材或其他脆弱的掩体在炮火之下都会受到破坏。

因为加入这种设计，玩家的队友AI也重新编写过，让他们更灵活应对这种情况才能存活，举例来说，在前作中队友通常会朝着目标笔直前进，往往容易暴露在敌人的射线之中，在《彩虹六号：维加斯2》，由于掩体不再那么牢不可破，因此他们会采取一种称为「跃进」（Leap Frogging）的掩护技巧，一边采取不同位置的掩护，一边朝目标前进，不会在一个地方待太久，这种更真实的AI表现绝对会让玩家们感到大呼过瘾。
